The Art of Visualization

I don't know about you, but packing for a quick getaway can be a bit stressful. I really try not to over pack anymore because it's never fun to lug around all your baggage (this is true in every sense). Ha!

I find it helpful to lay out my outfit choices and bring a few pieces that I can mix and match. This lets me visualize what I'll wear and what I'll actually need.

I also find it helpful to have an extra large Ziploc bag filled with travel size products, so it's always ready to be packed and it holds all of your essentials.

I also pick one large purse and then a smaller purse to bring along. Two options and nothing more! Yes I know, I have very good self control.

Gifted

A girl can have all the most amazing outfits in the world, but what would be the point if she didn’t have an amazing girlfriend to shop with, laugh with, and make horrible fashion mishaps with!

Our friendship spans over 20 years, and my beautiful friend, E. Z. and I have gone through every possible style you can think of. One piece body suits, jean vests, and coloured jeans with patchwork… you name it, we’ve worn it.

She was looking oh so fab the other day, so I couldn’t resist but take a few pictures of her outfit. I also wanted to highlight the earrings that she gave me, from a little boutique in New West called Brick and Mortar Living. E always finds these amazing little local shops.

How cool are these leaf asymmetrical earrings?

A cherrished friend and a new pair of earrings. I am gifted!

A Dash of Mustard

It’s always fun to add a pop of colour to a work outfit, which is otherwise a bit bland. Black pants and a grey shirt just needed something unexpected. This faux hair mustard belt was a jewel I picked up from Target. I love the unexpected texture (faux fur) of the belt. The shirt has a silky texture in the front and a more casual jersey material in the back. Sometimes I wear it backwards on purpose – just to mix things up.

Do you find anything fabulous at Target?

LBD Scarf Organizer

Are you a big fan of scarves? I am! I think they are the perfect accessory to an outfit.

The problem I have is that I am often running through the house like a crazy woman trying to locate a specific scarf. I have been looking for an organizer for my scarves for quite a while, but I could never find a gadget that I actually liked.

Storing scarves can be a bit tricky. My hubby always makes some sort of a comment as my scarves are usually occupying most of the hangers in our coat closet and getting in his way.

Enter Umbra's Little Black Dress Hanging Scarf Organizer.

This delightful and practical gadget was a gift from my darling mom. I couldn't stop smiling when I got it. It's super gorgeous as it takes the shape of a little black dress. This organizer allows me to quickly see all of my scarves together.

Love this fashion gadget organizer!

How do you store your scarves?

Birthday Suite

The secret is out - I turned 29!
I have never felt more content, happy, and settled in my skin. Maybe with age does come wisdom. Well, let's hope. Ha!

I feel as though you should make it a point to look glamorous for your birthday. I mean, come on. Your birthday is YOUR DAY. I make it a point not to work my birthday – best decision EVER. I treat it like a national holiday. Now only if everyone else can get on board.

For my birthday dinner at Kits Daily Kitchen, which by the way is my favourite restaurant, I decided on straight hair, smokey eyes, and one of my many little black dresses. I love the leather panel detailing on this dress – found on clearance at Mexx. I know, I’m pretty amazing. The bling to this outfit was accredited to the sequin purse, large earrings, and gold cuff.

Here’s looking forward to another year full of happiness, health, fun, and fabulous fashion
