Seeing Blue

One of the best things about being a girl is being able to get fashion tips and inspiration from your girlfriends. You know how sometimes you meet someone and you just click. Well that's what it was like when I met miss K. M.

She is a Speech Language Pathologist in the hospital. Not only is she brilliant, she is visually stunning. Tall and slim and always well put together.

Her motto is that she never keeps anything for a "special day." Now that's Vogue Everyday! She wears the most fabulous outfits but she never breaks the bank. Like me, she usually finds items on sale.

I can't wait to feature more of her looks.

I love this gorgeous blue top from Zara. Look at the details. I love how she paired the top with a chunky necklace and finished off the outfit with gold tip-toed flats. This outfit can easily be transitioned from office to drinks.

It’s Fallen and I Can’t Get it Up

My mornings are usually pretty relaxed. However, on the day that I need everything to flow smoothly is always when I encounter a little bump along the way.

I had to pick an outfit that was cute enough to wear for drinks straight after work so I chose my gorgeous purple H&M dress. I was about to run out of the room when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. The ENTIRE seam had come apart. I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS.

I had two options. The first was to find a different outfit. The second was to try and “fix” this problem. Common sense tells me to choose option A. So naturally, I choose option B. I spend another 5 minute running to each closet and bathroom like a maniac trying to find a needle and thread. WHO AM I? I don’t think I even have a needle in the house. But I swear I had a little mending kit from a hotel. Anyway, instead of choosing option A, I think creatively. You know, outside the box. I get my handy ziplock bag of safety pins and decide to pin the entire seam back together. No joke. This is the idiocy I willingly participate in

Well I have to say that my handicraft work paid off. None of the girls noticed until I showed them my special sewing skills. My $15.00 dress made it another day.  Not too shabby Ramona. Not too shabby.
I really do need to sew this seam properly. Any takers? Haha

A Dash of Mustard

It’s always fun to add a pop of colour to a work outfit, which is otherwise a bit bland. Black pants and a grey shirt just needed something unexpected. This faux hair mustard belt was a jewel I picked up from Target. I love the unexpected texture (faux fur) of the belt. The shirt has a silky texture in the front and a more casual jersey material in the back. Sometimes I wear it backwards on purpose – just to mix things up.

Do you find anything fabulous at Target?

From Office to Drinks TGIF

I love meeting friends after work on a Friday, but the big dilemma is always about looking work appropriate and then converting to out on the town appropriate.

My tricks for the conversion:

1. Wear an outfit that will translate well from office to night with a few accessories
2. Pack jewelry that you can add to your outfit
3. Pack a pair of shoes that you can change into after work
4. Keep the day time make up light and minimal so that you can spruce up just before 5pm!
5. Smile baby! It's Friday and you are done with the office!

The outfit below:

I added a big gold necklace and big chandelier earrings. I changed into my heel boots and added black eyeliner and a red lip of course. I finished it off with a colourful scarf.
Even the rain couldn't bring this girl down.
