Everyday Inspiration

One of my favourite things to do is people watch, which often involves taking in their various styles and finding my own interpretations.  

Here is a look at other trend setters this week. 

 

1. Business casual done right: a mix of high and low 

Miss K. K. is always wearing somthing fabulous. For her Aritizia pants to her YSL ring, she knows how to put an outfit together. I love the edgy skull scarf - from a little shop called Muse. Well done lady!  

2. The prefect pant: Aritzia Elliott pants

The gorgeous girl who wears this swears by the comfot as much as the style. I might just have to cough up the cash for these babies! The fit is amazing as it is made with bi-stretch cotton (ok that came straight from the Aritzia webiste).

 3. Colour blocking 

I was sitting in Starbucks when this bright pop of apple green caught my eye. This pretty lady has a personality as bright and happy as her outfit. The jacket is from Old Navy and the pants are from Forever XXI.

I love happy people and I need to remeber to wear more colour!

Work it Out

Black shirt tucked into black skirt, with a black sweater. I needed to look seriousat work today.  I think I achieved my goal.

I added a magenta pink and grey scarf with magenta earrings for some colour.

I also added a leather and gold bracelet for some toughness.

The Well Defined Eye

I'm naked without my black liquid eyeliner. Some girls prefer the pencil but I really like how easy liquid liner is to apply. Ok so maybe you need to practise a little bit. wink wink

My weapon of choice: Loreal Intense Liner - Black

A Few Tips To Clam the Nerves

1. Relax! It’s just make-up – you can take it off anytime you like
2. Think of your eyelid as having three sections, the inner section (closest to your nose), the middle section, and the outer section
3. If you don’t have a steady enough hand, try drawing a light line on the outer section of your eye only. It still looks really good and adds a bit of volume to your lash area
4. If you are not as steady with your hand yet, apply the liner and then add your eye shadow as it can help mask some of the wiggles in the line 
5. Make the effort. The end result is FABULOUS!

 

Unexpected Surprises

I am so giddy with excitement!

I walked into a random one off Korean store at Plaza 88 / New West Station as I was looking for a cover for my phone. To my surprise, the store was a little jewel, full of imported goodies.

I found this FABULOUS dress. It was such a ridiculously good deal that I feel embarrased to even tell you the price - no I don't. They didn't have a change room so I bought it on a whim - I mean it was ONLY $10.00. The material and details are actually pretty amazing.

Score one for the good guys!

PS. I also found a cell phone cover. But who cares about that right?

Get Your Nails Did

There is a special feeling that comes from having a perfect polish on your hands and feet.

We do so much with our hands and I think they should always look polished and presentable.

Here are my tricks to a perfect manicure:

1. Cut, shape, and buff nails
2. Apply base coat of choice (I like Nail Envy by OPI)
3. Apply first coat of polish and LET DRY at least 10 - 15 minutes before the next coat goes on
4. Run hands under cold water to set your nails (I read this in a magazine and I think it works) 
5. Finish with top coat and REPEAT top coat every 2 - 3 days

Big Earrings

At work I am actually known for my earrings. I actually feel quite naked if I don't have earrings on. I keep an extra pair in my purse for emergencies. I LOVE the way a pair of earrings can transform an outfit and add interest to your face.

I am a bit obsessed with earrings. I don't really have enough room for my ever growing collection. Oh well. This is one habit that I WILL NOT QUIT.

From Office to Drinks TGIF

I love meeting friends after work on a Friday, but the big dilemma is always about looking work appropriate and then converting to out on the town appropriate.

My tricks for the conversion:

1. Wear an outfit that will translate well from office to night with a few accessories
2. Pack jewelry that you can add to your outfit
3. Pack a pair of shoes that you can change into after work
4. Keep the day time make up light and minimal so that you can spruce up just before 5pm!
5. Smile baby! It's Friday and you are done with the office!

The outfit below:

I added a big gold necklace and big chandelier earrings. I changed into my heel boots and added black eyeliner and a red lip of course. I finished it off with a colourful scarf.
Even the rain couldn't bring this girl down.
