Fashion ’spiration

I am such a great mood these days and I know that it must be the weather. What’s not to love about living in gorgeous Vancouver in the summer?

Summer allows all of us to shed the jackets and boots for lighter and brighter clothing. I love seeing what all the girls are wearing.

I am obsessed with colour blocking, various patterns, bights, and neon colour combinations right now. I think the excitement and energy of summer can be seen in the fashion choices.

Here are two lovely ladies that I had to showcase because they simply looked FABULOUS! I love the way they each styled their outfits and the common indicator is that they are both wearing coloured belts.

I love how this entire outfit is styled. The various colours work together because the navy top is anchored by the metallic blue sandals. The pictures don’t really do these shorts justice. In person the colour and fabric really stand out. Doesn’t she look effortlessly cool?

K was wearing this at work and I thought that she really looked like a ray of sunshine. The pink belt and pink manicured nails really pick up the splashes of pink in the yellow cardigan. I am in LOVE with this chunky necklace. It adds a spot of sophistication to the outfit and also ties in the sparkle of her flats. Well done lady.

Block it to the Max

The weather is gorgeous here in beautiful Vancouver. To celebrate the start of the season, husband and I decided to walk along the boardwalk to the Boathouse for drinks and appetizers.

I already had my nails did… so why not just go all out. I decided to colour block – TO THE MAX.

Purple top, blue skinnies, and my big yellow bag is what I decided to wear. I was worried about pulling this off but it worked quite well. I did my hair in a loose braid to keep things casual and fun.

I decided to bring along my new asymmetrical sweater – which I adore by the way.  I bought it on sale for $20.00 from a random store at the Sky Train station. The same store that I bought the blue dress I blogged about. The cable knit sweater feels luxurious.

Write me up a Prescription

One of the reasons I love my job is that I work with such an amazing group of people.  On a busy morning on the unit, I was rushing through the nursing station when I saw the most cheerful dress. 

Me: Oh my gosh, I just love your dress

T.S: (Big smile as she says) I stalked this dress at Armani Exchange until it was marked down to the final clearance price. 

This is how I started off my morning… admiring my pretty colleague / friend, T.S. This amazing woman is a Pharmacist at the hospital. Not only is she fantastic at her job, she’s a mom of two boys, a marathon runner, and a fashion hunter. 

I love that she added a bright pink cardigan to pick up the pink in the dress. Imagine how easily this dress can translate into after work fun. I can just picture how amazing this dress would look with a pair of pink heels and some big jewelry.
